Saying Goodbye (Berlin Woodwinds Demo) by BenBotkin

Orchestral Tools, a fairly new sample development company based in Germany just released the phenomenal new Berlin Woodwinds sampled instrument library. I was privileged to write some demo material for them, and you can hear my first demo above. This short piece features the legato patches of the library and was thrown together in about 5 hours. Although I spent a little time working on the phrasing of some of the lines (you should always do at least some of this for slower, expressive performances), what you’re hearing is basically the out-of-the-box sound with just a touch of SPACES reverb. No major editing here. Strings are Hollywood Strings by EWQL.

Next week I’m planning to post more demo content and an in-depth review of this impressive and inspiring library. Stay tuned.

  • Wow! Really pretty. Almost haunting.

  • Such a lovely piece of music! Oh how this song makes me wish I continued my flute lessons when I was thirteen. But the Lord had a better plan for me in music, the piano is my passion! 🙂

  • Great, Ben. I can see why they liked your composition so well. I am only sorry that it took me so long to get here to listen…
